Ida B. Wells

In 1893, Ida B. Wells boldly critiqued police-led narratives about police violence. This quote in of itself is a story of how long the voices of people closest to injustice have the solutions to make things better. Her paper was printed on pink paper to be recognizable by people who were permitted to learn how to read. They would identify it by its color and then bring it back to the community to be read aloud at community gatherings.
